Project Description
- FDTSS performed the voluntary seismic retrofit of an existing 19‐story residential reinforced concrete building in San Francisco, California. All work was performed without relocation of any of its residents.
- The retrofit is based solely on using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) for strengthening structural members such as diaphragms, walls, columns, coupling beams and concrete cores of the existing building.
- FDTSS applied a polymer coating product over the FRP to provide the closest possible match to the existing adjacent surfaces, saving the owner time and money compared to the original designs.
